Brenda began her career as a teacher and taught language arts, religion and computer in both public and Catholic Schools for a total of 20 years. She now has her master’s degree in theology and pastoral ministry from the Loyola in New Orleans extension program, LIMEX. She was Director of Religious Education at Blessed Sacrament for 10 years. She is currently the Director/staff liaison for JOY and Caritas Apostolates. This includes organizing and recruiting volunteers for the Nursing Home and Homebound Ministry, card writing, consolation ministry, Journey of Grace (woman’s prayer group), etc. As staff liaison for Caritas she participates in the St. Vincent DePaul societies and Caritas outreach efforts. She is also a commissioned Lay leader of Prayer and administers the safe environment policy, VIRTUS.
She has been a member of Blessed Sacrament church for 39 years, grew up in Warren, and converted from the Methodist faith to Catholicism in 1985. She is a widow, has 3 grown children, Nicholas, Anthony and Laura, and 2 grandchildren. She is happy to be a member of the St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish staff and supports parishioners and their families as they journey in their faith.
